Terms of Service

Effective June 30, 2026 · Sandstories LLC, an Oklahoma single-member limited liability company

1. The license you are buying

A Sandstories license is a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the platform on the number of devices specified in your tier for the duration of your active subscription:

• Student (Graduate students or pre-licensed interns) — 1 device
• Professional — 1 device
• Office — 5 devices (1 per user)
• District / Network — Site-Wide or as specified in your purchase agreement

A “device” means one browser on one computer or tablet. Activating a license on a new device counts against your device limit. If you exceed your limit, contact Support@sandstories.app.

2. Pricing and payment

Sandstories is sold as an annual subscription. Your license will automatically renew each year unless canceled prior to your renewal date. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account portal.

The price you pay grants you access to the tier you purchased, including all content and feature updates released during your active subscription term. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.

3. Refund policy

You may request a full refund within 30 days of your initial purchase or renewal, no questions asked, by emailing Support@sandstories.app.

4. What you may not do with the platform

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the platform.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the platform without written agreement.
• Share your license key publicly or with unauthorized users.
• Upload, enter, or store Protected Health Information (PHI) as defined by HIPAA.

5. Updates and changes to the platform

Sandstories may update the platform from time to time. We will not remove a feature that is materially advertised as part of your purchased tier without 90 days’ notice.

6. Data storage and privacy

In ordinary single-device use, the Sandstories platform runs locally on your authorized device, and we do not back up or store your constructed scenes or session notes on Sandstories LLC servers.

When you choose to run a shared telehealth session, the tray is connected to your client’s device through a unique, single-use session link so the two devices can interact in real time over an encrypted connection. Session content is relayed only for the duration of the live session and is not retained on our servers after the session ends. Sandstories is designed to be PHI-free; you remain responsible for how any screenshots you export are stored and documented. See our Privacy Policy for full detail.

7. Intellectual property

The platform, including all code, design, branding, and the figure library, is the intellectual property of Sandstories LLC.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma. Any dispute shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Tulsa County, Oklahoma.

11. The Sandstories Shop (physical products and resources)

The Sandstories Shop at sandstoriestherapy.com sells physical goods — including curated second-life miniatures, playbooks, and apparel — as well as downloadable resources. The following terms apply to those purchases, in addition to the general provisions in Sections 7 through 10.

Orders and acceptance

Your order is an offer to buy. We may accept or decline any order, and an order confirmation does not by itself guarantee acceptance or product availability. We may correct pricing or description errors and cancel affected orders, refunding any amount already charged.

Pricing, taxes, and payment

Prices are listed on the Shop and may change before an order is placed. You are responsible for any applicable sales or use tax, calculated at checkout where required. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.

Shipping, delivery, and risk of loss

We ship to the address you provide, and you are responsible for its accuracy. Delivery estimates are not guarantees. Title and risk of loss pass to you when we hand the items to the carrier.

Second-life miniatures sold “as is”

Many miniatures are curated, pre-owned, second-life pieces. They are cleaned and inspected, but each is unique and may show natural variation or minor wear, and the item you receive may differ slightly from product photographs. These pieces are sold “as is” and are intended as expressive therapeutic tools for use by professionals — not as toys for unsupervised use by children.

Returns and exchanges

Unused physical products in their original condition may be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the product price, less original shipping. To protect quality, certain items may be designated final sale at the point of purchase. Downloadable resources are non-refundable once they have been accessed or downloaded. Playbooks and downloadable resources

Digital resources are licensed for your individual professional use and may not be redistributed, resold, or posted publicly. All Sandstories content remains the intellectual property of Sandstories LLC, as described in Section 7.

12. Affiliate links

Some Sandstories pages include affiliate links, including through the Amazon Associates program. If you purchase through one of these links, Sandstories may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. We only feature products we have used and recommend, and any such third-party purchase is governed by that seller’s own terms and policies, not these.
