Terms of Service

Effective May 8, 2026 · Sandstories LLC, an Oklahoma single-member limited liability company

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Sandstories platform at sandstories.app. By purchasing a license or otherwise using the platform, you agree to these terms.

1. The license you are buying

A Sandstories license is a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the platform on the number of devices specified in your tier for the duration of your active subscription:

Student (Graduate students or pre-licensed interns) — 1 device
Professional — 1 device
Office — 5 devices (1 per user)
District / Network — Site-Wide or as specified in your purchase agreement

A “device” means one browser on one computer or tablet. Activating a license on a new device counts against your device limit. If you exceed your limit, contact Support@sandstories.app.

2. Pricing and payment

Sandstories is sold as an annual subscription. Your license will automatically renew each year unless canceled prior to your renewal date. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account portal.

The price you pay grants you access to the tier you purchased, including all content and feature updates released during your active subscription term. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.

3. Refund policy

You may request a full refund within 30 days of your initial purchase or renewal, no questions asked, by emailing Support@sandstories.app.

4. What you may not do with the platform

Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the platform.
Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the platform without written agreement.
Share your license key publicly or with unauthorized users.
Upload, enter, or store Protected Health Information (PHI) as defined by HIPAA.

5. Updates and changes to the platform

Sandstories may update the platform from time to time. We will not remove a feature that is materially advertised as part of your purchased tier without 90 days’ notice.

6. Data storage and privacy

The Sandstories platform operates entirely locally on your authorized device. The platform does not transmit, back up, or store your constructed scenes or session information on Sandstories LLC servers.

7. Intellectual property

The platform, including all code, design, branding, and the figure library, is the intellectual property of Sandstories LLC.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

SANDSTORIES IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. IT IS A SUPPLEMENTARY EXPRESSIVE TOOL FOR USE BY LICENSED PRACTITIONERS. IT IS NOT A DIAGNOSTIC TOOL OR A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL JUDGMENT.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SANDSTORIES LLC’S TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR YOUR LICENSE IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma. Any dispute shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Tulsa County, Oklahoma.
